Telangana MLA dies in car accident, driver in serious condition

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Lasya Nandita died in a car accident in Hyderabad. She was 37. The accident happened after the vehicle in which she was travelling collided with a road divider. Though seriously injured MLA was immediately taken to the hospital, her life could not be saved.

Her driver has been seriously injured and is under treatment. Lasya had survived another accident in Narkatpally just ten days ago. The accident happened when she was on her way to Nalgonda to attend a rally of the chief minister. She sustained minor injuries then but her home guard had died.

Lasya was born in Hyderabad in 1986. She made her foray into politics a decade ago. She was elected as MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections.
