Trips to Andhra Pradesh in luxury cars, Arun Kumar and Akhil shady motive behind these journeys

THRISSUR: Two men have been arrested for smuggling drugs worth Rs 3.75 crores from Andhra Pradesh. The arrested have been identified as Arun (30) and Akhil (29).

Arun is the leader of a gang dealing in the wholesale distribution of ganja, and hashish oil in Palakkad, Thrissur, and Ernakulam. 78 kg of ganja, 3 kg hashish oil, and currency amounting to Rs 2 lakhs were seized in Kuthiran by City Anti Narcotics Squad and police in Peechi.

They collect ganja by staying in Andhra for several days after renting luxury cars. Ganja is usually sold to students and autorickshaw drivers in Thrissur. The cars used to smuggle intoxicants were also seized. Arun Kumar is implicated in several criminal cases. Akhil is a close relative of his. An investigation has been launched into drug peddlers and the financial source of the accused.
