Two killed, one seriously injured after pickup van collides with lorry in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: Two were killed in an accident in Kanjikode on Sunday after a pickup van crashed into the rear of a lorry. The deceased have been identified as Nishad from Mepparambu and Shivan from Kodunthirapully. Driver Navakkode native Shajir was seriously injured in the incident.

The accident took place at Kanjikode railway station junction. It was a pickup van from a poultry farm that crashed into the lorry. At first, the locals helped bring out one person trapped inside the van and rushed him to the hospital. Later, the fire force reached the spot and brought out others only after tearing open the vehicle. However, both of the trapped ones died on the spot.
