KOCHI: Coming back from a two goal deficit, Kerala Blasters FC hammered four goals in the second half to defeat FC Goa 4-2. This is the Kerala side's first win after three games in Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24. With this win, the yellow side stormed into the fourth spot.

In the first half, the visitors went into the halftime break with a two-goal lead, powered by goals by Rowllin Borges and Mohammed Yasir.

Borges scored the early opener through a volley from a corner kick in the sixth minute. Yasir then converted a pass from Noah Sadaoui, who drove the ball up on the left flank and gave it to the young attacking midfielder. The Gaurs were looking comfortable with their early lead, but the Kerala Blasters FC looked like a rejuvenated side in the second half.

Daisuke Sakai scored Kerala's first by pulling off a fantastic free kick from the edge of the box to beat an outstretched Arshdeep Singh.

In the final 10 minutes, Greek striker Dimitrios Diamantakos scored a brace and assisted once to bring Kerala Blasters alive. He converted a spot-kick in the 81st minute, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner to equalise scores. Kerala Blasters FC kept pushing for the winner and Diamantakos found a way to score the third goal.

The Gaurs were shook as Diamantakos once again managed to break past them and sent in a pass to new recruit Fedor Cernych, who scored the fourth of the night for the Kerala side.

For their next match, Kerala Blasters FC will play away Bengaluru FC on March 2, whereas FC Goa will face Mumbai City FC on February 28.
