THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation stones of 24 flyovers, eight subways and three railway station redevelopment projects in Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division. The Prime Minister did this online as part of the launch of 2000 railway development projects worth Rs 41000 crore across the country.
Union Minister V Muraleedharan was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the construction of the railway flyover at Janathamukku in Varkala. Muraleedharan said that the central government's policy of upgrading railway stations to world standards is a tribute to the common people of the country.
"The Narendra Modi government is making an unparalleled intervention in the railway development of Kerala. Two Vande Bharat trains were allotted to the state. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Ernakulam South and Ernakulam North stations were included in the first phase of the Amrit project. It allotted flyovers to remove the traffic congestion caused by railway gates," the minister said.
