THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been lodged with the police against Congress leader Palode Ravi for singing the national anthem incorrectly. It was BJP Thiruvananthapuram district vice president RS Rajeev who lodged the complaint with the City Police Commissioner against Palode Ravi. In his complaint, Rajeev accused Ravi of insulting the national anthem.

The incident took place at the concluding session of the Samaragni Yatra of the Congress held in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday evening. At the end of the program, DCC president Palode Ravi sang the national anthem incorrectly. Ravi started by singing 'Jana Gana Mangala Dayaka Jaya Hey'. Realizing the mistake, T Siddique MLA quickly grabbed the microphone and told Ravi that the CD of the national anthem would be played instead. Following this, a woman leader sang the national anthem. The video of the incident is going viral on social media.
