Campaigning before announcement of candidate; Is Sudhakaran UDF candidate in Kannur?

KANNUR: Days have passed since LDF and NDA announced their candidates and started campaigning but the announcement of Congress candidates is delayed. However, the Congress ranks in Kannur are not ready to wait. The ranks have already started requesting votes and poster campaign for KPCC president K Sudhakaran.

Although there is still uncertainty as to who the candidate will be, ranks recognize the need to take the field early. Although Sudhakaran's position is that he cannot contest the election as he is working as KPCC president, the central leadership has not yielded to this.

Currently there are many controversies in the name of K Sudhakaran but the situation is that they cannot find another candidate who has a chance of winning. AICC's position is that K Sudhakaran is the one who should contest to retain Kannur. The survey conducted by Kanugolu also indicates that Sudhakaran should contest in Kannur.

With district secretary MV Jayarajan in the fray, the CPM system is running like a well-oiled machine. Moreover, the CPM is also of the opinion that if they succeed in defeating the KPCC president, it will damage the status of the Congress in the state.

Raghunath, who left the Congress and joined the BJP, is the NDA candidate. Congress workers realized the danger of waiting when both factions intensified their campaigns. With this, the campaign for Sudhakaran started with posters and flyers.
