LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Pakistani cricketers will be undergoing a 10-day rigorous training with the army ahead of the upcoming Twenty20 Cricket World Cup. The players will undergo training with the soldiers in March and April with the aim of increasing fitness.

It was PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi who announced this. Earlier, Pakistani players were subjected to widespread criticism over their lack of fitness.

"We have New Zealand coming up, then Ireland, England and the T20 World Cup. I wondered, 'When will we train?' but there was no time. However, we've found a window, where we've organised a camp in Kakul (military academy) from March 25 to April 8. The Pakistan Army will be involved in your training, and hopefully, they'll help you out," Naqvi said.
