Chenda melam and flower shower; BJP gives warm welcome to Padmaja in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP has given a warm welcome to Padmaja Venugopal, who arrived in Thiruvananthapuram today. Leaders including BJP state president K Surendran, Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Shaun George, Karamana Jayan, VV Rajesh and Adv S Suresh were there at the airport to receive Padmaja.

The BJP workers, who presented a shawl to Padmaja, received her with a flower shower and slogans. There was also a chenda melam. This is the first time Padmaja came to Kerala after joining the BJP. She will soon meet the media.

Padmaja received BJP membership yesterday at 6:30 pm at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. She had responded that she had not been happy within the Congress party for several years and had been unsatisfied since the last assembly elections. She also said that the high command didn’t even care to consider her complaints despite repeated pleading. Padmaja also revealed about being denied permission to meet Sonia Gandhi.
