CBI to probe Siddharthan death case, CMO issues order

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government on Saturday decided to hand over the Siddharathan death case to CBI, just hours after Siddharthan's father Jayaprakash met CM Pinarayi Vijayan in the secretariat, to apprise about the doubts surrounding his son's death. The CM’s office released a press release highlighting the same and said that the CM decided on the CBI investigation after getting moved by the pain of the family.

The move also comes amidst allegations at the CM for not even visiting the victim’s house even one month after the gruesome death case. The sudden move to hand over the case to CBI is also viewed as a face-saving act by the government in the wake of the approaching Lok Sabha elections.

Jayaprakash after meeting with CM Pinarayi:

I opened up with the chief minister about the doubts circling my son’s death. The autopsy report reveals the inhumane torture he had to face. Even my doctor friends raised suspicion about the suicide angle as they said it would be nearly impossible for someone this fatigued to hang seld to death. I told the Chief Minister all the information I got. When demanded a CBI probe, the CM assured the case would be handed over to the CBI.

I will tell the investigators what the college authorities have hidden. I have clear proof of that. Suspension won’t do any good. They should be dismissed from service.

The Anti-Ragging Squad's report submitted to the Dean reveals more names in the accused list. The police have not found them yet. Many suicides and deaths of students have occurred in that college during the past five or six years.

Even after the death, Akshay, Siddharthan's close friend and roommate, purposefully withheld the details from us. Dr. Bindu Sundar's son Rohan is also suspected to be involved in the murder. It is said that Rohan was the first to see Siddharth hanging. Roha later changed this statement.

I never knew about the fasting done by Youth congress workers in protest against Siddharth’s death. I want them to end the protest for good. I also want to meet them after completing the 41st-day ritual of my son.
