THRISSUR: Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi, who is also BJP's candidate from Thrissur constituency, lashed out at the party workers for the lack of people when he came for election campaign. The incident took place on Saturday morning when he came to visit the Shasthampuvam tribal colony. Suresh Gopi was irked by the lack of attendance during the election campaign and the fact that the names of some activists were not included in the voter list.
When Suresh Gopi arrived, there were very few people in the colony. Seeing this, he wasn't ready to get out of the vehicle. People didn't come out of their houses, which also angered him. The party workers were also less, after which he got into the vehicle to leave the place.
"Why did you bring me to a place that is not friendly? For what purpose? If you are going to get me votes, the voting citizen must be here. Booth people should understand this. We have not come for a war. If you don't help me, I will go to Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow and work for Rajeev Chandrasekhar. I have no interest. This is terrible," Suresh Gopi told BJP workers, including women. The activists then tried to persuade him to stay.
