Crescent moon of Ramadan sighted; Ramzan fasting to start on Monday in Gulf countries except Oman

RIYAD: The fasting month of Ramadan will begin on Monday in the Gulf countries except Oman in the wake of the sighting of the Crescent moon in Saudi Arabia. Fasting starts on Monday in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The Supreme Council informed that the Crescent moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia.

The Auqaf Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that Oman will begin fasting on Tuesday after the completion of the 30th of Sha'ban. Under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a system was set up to observe the new moon in different parts of Oman. Ahead of the start of Ramzan fasting, the rulers of the Gulf countries have wished Ramadan to the devotees.

Call to Fajr prayer will be given at 5.15 am on the first day of the holy month, signalling the start of the fast. Devotees will end their fast with the call to Maghrib prayer at 6.29 pm.
