PATHANAMTHITTA: A village officer was found hanging at his house in Pathanamthitta. Manoj (47) of Payyanallur Kochuthundil and a village officer in Kadambanad was found hanging.
He was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the bedroom around 10 am Monday morning. Manoj attempted suicide after his wife, a teacher, went to school. He was rushed to the hospital by his relatives, but his life could not be saved. His wife is a teacher at Sooranad LP School. He has a daughter. Manoj was previously in Aranmula village office.
A former teacher had committed suicide in Idukki the other day. He was found hanging in his neighbour’s land after receiving the bank's notice over default of loan. He has been identified as Benny (54) of Kaliyar. After Benny's death, the bank officials said they have not entered into foreclosure proceedings except sending notices to all loan defaulters.
The bank officials also stated that the foreclosure action will be taken only if a person who has not made a single repayment even after taking the loan.
