The death of actor Kalabhavan Navas left the film industry in shock. The actor, who was just 51 and healthy, had returned from shooting on Friday evening but is believed to have collapsed inside his hotel room. Navas was soon declared dead after he was rushed to a hospital in Chottanikkara.

In one of his earlier interviews allowed to Kaumudy channel, Navas had talked about his close shave with death. On that day, Navas was on his way home to Vadakkancherry after a program. The actor usually stays at his mother's house in Ernakulam if it gets late after work. However, since it was Eid the next day, Navas decided to drive his Maruti 800 back home even if it meant getting late.

Kalabhavan Navas:

"By the time I reached Thrissur, I was exhausted. My eyes closed once or twice. When the time crossed 10 pm, I had already passed Thrissur city. I reached Mulakunnathukavu, and then I don't remember anything else. When I opened my eyes, I realised my car had crashed into a house. Some family members were crying and raising an alarm. I couldn’t understand what was happening. I was in a frozen state and completely numb. Miraculously, I didn’t even suffer a scratch on my body. But when I saw my car, I was completely devastated. Anyone who had a look at my car in that situation would not have believed that the passenger inside escaped death.

Since the incident, I have made sure to stop the vehicle and sleep whenever it gets late at night."
