LDF and UDF trying to deceive Muslim community; CAA will be first implemented in Kerala, says K Surendran

KOCHI: BJP state president K Surendran on Tuesday said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will be definitely implemented in Kerala as well. Surendran alleged that both LDF and UDF are trying to divide the people in the name of the CAA. Speaking to the media in Kochi, Surendran also accused both fronts of trying to deceive the Muslim community in Kerala.

"The Citizenship Amendment Act is not for the citizens of India. It is for the religious minorities in countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who are getting tortured in the name of religion. It is the liability of our country. This law is not meant to take away the citizenship of anyone. The Chief Minister and Opposition Leader are misleading the people of Kerala. Has anyone approached Pinarayi Vijayan for citizenship saying that they are being denied citizenship? The District Collector will take care of all the citizenship matters. Chief Minister should not worry about that. Pinarayi Vijayan did not get Kerala as a dowry. CAA has become law in our country. No one can do anything anymore," Surendran said.

"The first camp to house illegal immigrants in India was started in Kerala. CAA will be first implemented in Kerala. CAA is the guarantee of the Modi government. Do UDF and LDF have the courage to protest against CAA in Kerala?" he added.
