NEW DELHI: Congress has announced the second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath and Rajasthan's former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav Gehlot have figured in the list of 43 people.
Out of the list of 43 people, 25 are below 50 years of age. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath, who is the sitting MP, is contesting from Chindwara in Madhya Pradesh. Vaibhav Gehlot is the son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He is contesting from Jalore in Rajasthan.
Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's son Gaurav Gogoi will seek constituency from Jorhat. Gogoi is the sitting MP from Kaliabor constituency. In the second list of Congress, 12 candidates were announced from Assam, 7 from Gujarat, 10 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Rajasthan and one each from Daman and Diu.
According to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, 76.7 percent of the candidates in the list belong to minorities, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward castes.
