THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala, which is suffering from the scorching summer heat, finally has some comforting news. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that eight districts of the state are likely to receive light rainfall today. According to the IMD, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts will receive light rainfall in the coming hours. It also said that Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta are likely to receive rainfall tomorrow as well.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Centre has said that there is a possibility of 0.5 to 1.5 meters high wave and storm surge along the Kerala coast and the South Tamil Nadu coast tonight (14-03-2024) till 11.30 pm.
Meanwhile, the IMD said that the temperature is likely to rise up to 38 degrees Celsius in Palakkad and Kollam districts, and up to 36 degrees Celsius in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode districts from March 14 to 18.
