Private hospital employee found hanging, due to denial of benefits, says suicide note

KALPATTA: Private hospital employee found hanging. Thankachan (50), a resident of Palakkad Attappadi, cleaning supervisor of Kalpatta Fathimamata Hospital, was found dead yesterday morning in the hospital's cloth drying shed. A suicide note was found stating that denial of benefits and harassment by the management was the reason for the suicide.

He had been working in the hospital for eight years. At four o'clock yesterday morning, he reached the canteen asking for the key of the store. Thankachan, who went missing, was found dead at 7:30 in the morning. Thankachan had started losing sight in one eye. Allergy problem was also bothering. The hospital authorities clarified that the allegation in the suicide note is baseless. The body was shifted to Kozhikode Medical College for post-mortem. Will be released to relatives today.
