THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday rejected LDF convener EP Jayarajan's statement that the main contest in Kerala in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be between the LDF and the BJP. Speaking at a press conference, the CM said that the contest will be between UDF and LDF and that the BJP will suffer a heavy blow.

"We cannot accept the Opposition Leader's advice on the Citizenship Amendment Act. Rulers often insist that they can implement many things that are against the people. The country's democratic system has a tradition of effectively resisting such measures. The Opposition Leader is saying that there is no point in expressing opposition when a government insists on Sangh Parivar's position. We will take legal action against it," the CM said.

"The fact that Congress leaders are leaving the party and joining the BJP should be taken seriously. VD Satheesan made a statement mentioning my name while talking about Padmaja leaving the Congress. Would anyone be willing to take such statements at face value? Just look at the number of people who joined the BJP in the last one month. There are 12 former Congress Chief Ministers in the BJP. State presidents and heads of AICC came there. People are still preparing to leave," he said.

When quizzed about the SFIO probe regarding the transaction of his daughter's company with CMRL, the CM said that the probe should continue and everyone will receive information once the probe is completed.
