'Former Kerala CM's heir will join BJP'; Padmaja Venugopal spills beans before LS polls

KANNUR: Padmaja Venugopal, who recently joined BJP from Congress hinted at more congress leaders joining the saffron camp in the coming days. Padmaja gave a sly hint about the heir of a former chief minister of Kerala joining BJP but restrained from revealing the names.

The revelation has put the congress party in a fix, as the son and daughter of former congress bigwigs (K Karunakaran and A K Antony)have already joined the BJP in a major setback and more such examples would definitely bruise the party's standing among public. Padmaja while attending a rally in Pathanamthitta on Friday rolled the red carpet for her brother and current Thrissur candidate K Muraleedharan to join BJP. She also foreshadowed the AICC headquarters to stop functioning and fall into redundancy after the declaration of the Lok Sabha election 2024 results.

“Only for being Karunakaran’s daughter, I was cornered in the party. Many ordinary workers knew about my plight but the leaders never cared to enquire. As of now, there are no good leaders in Congress nor with CPM.” Padmaja said.
