Anu's murder: Malappuram native taken into custody after examining CCTV visuals

KOZHIKODE: One person has been taken into police custody in connection with the death of Perambra resident Anu. As per indication, he is a native of Malappuram. The body of the woman was found in a canal. The investigation was based on a red bike spotted in the area. His picture was found in the visuals on a nearby CCTV camera. He was then taken into custody.

According to reports, the person in custody is involved in several theft cases. Anu (26) alias Ambika, daughter of Kurunkudi Vasu, hailing from Valoor in Nochad gram panchayat, went missing on Monday morning. Anu, who left her home to go to the hospital with her husband, was found to be missing when her relatives began searching for her.

After the investigation, the dead body of a young woman was found lying in a canal near a field below Kottoor around 9 am on Tuesday. The body was found half naked. Her jewellery was also missing. The police suspect that the murder happened during an attempt to rob Anu's jewellery.
