THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mustering of yellow and pink ration card members of the priority category has been temporarily stopped due to a technical glitch in the e-POS system. Minister GR Anil informed that this is because NIC and IT Mission need more time to resolve the problem. It has also been clarified that the mustering will be resumed only after they inform that the fault has been completely resolved.
Kerala has again written to the central government requesting that the deadline for mustering be extended to May 31 instead of March 31. The minister said that time and facilities will be provided for mustering for everyone.
A committee chaired by State IT Mission Director Anu Kumari was formed to inquire into the disruption of mustering and ration distribution in the past few days and submit a report within a week. The members are Dr Ajith Kumar, Assistant Professor and Director of Digital Innovation Centre, Digital University; S Sanob, Head of Innovation and Research Department, IT Mission and S Rajashree, Scientist, C-DAC. NIC, BSNL and the Food Department will assist the committee.

Ration shops are closed today and distribution of ration will be normal from tomorrow, the minister informed. Today was earlier fixed as a working day for ration shops for mustering. From the applications received last October, 19,384 eligible people will be given pink ration cards.
