THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The driving licenses of 26 people were revoked following a joint inspection conducted by the police and the motor vehicle department aimed at preventing stunts on two-wheelers. Legal action has been initiated against four people, with the police also reporting the collection of fines totaling Rs 4,70,750.

This action follows an inspection named Operation Bike Stunt conducted across various districts yesterday. During the inspection, 32 two-wheelers were seized and the police have confirmed that court proceedings have commenced.

The crackdown came after videos depicting vehicles being modified, speeding and engaging in risky stunts were circulated on various social media platforms. The Traffic Road Safety Cell, under the supervision of Traffic IG, identified the offenders by monitoring social media activities.

Under the guidance of State Police Chief Dr. Sheikh Darvesh Sahib, ADGP MR Ajith Kumar, Transport Commissioner and ADGP S Sreejith, officials from the police and motor vehicle department jointly carried out the inspection.
