WAYANAD: The 14-year-old girl, who went missing from Parakkuni in Panamaram, was found by the police from Thrissur. The police have taken two people into custody in connection with the incident. Thankamma and Vinod (29), who are familiar with the child, have been taken into custody. The girl has been missing since last Saturday. The girl left home saying that she was going to her friend's relative's house in Thrissur. The Panamaram police had intensified the investigation after the child's parents lodged a missing complaint.

During the investigation focusing on the mobile tower location, it was found that the child was in Thrissur. Following this, the Wayanad District Police Chief passed on the information to the Thrissur City Police. The City Police later found the child in Palapetty. The girl was accompanied by her friend's mother Thankamma and her second husband Vinod. The girl was handed over to her parents after recording her statement and producing her in court.

It was Vinod who took the girl from Panamaram to Thrissur. The police have booked Vinod and Thankamma for abducting the minor girl. Vinod was produced in court and remanded following the police's suspicion that he had sexually exploited the child. Thankamma and Vinod used to frequently visit and stay at Thankamma's sister's house near the house of the missing girl. That is how they got close to the child. It is also suspected that the two abducted the child to hand over her to the begging mafia.
