Why can't RCB and Kohli win the cup? There is no point in blaming bowlers, real reason is different

rcb-

BENGALURU: Royal Challengers Bangalore won the women's premier league cup this time. The fans' favourite team won the title in just the second season, which the men's team has not been able to do for 16 years. In IPL, RCB has always been among the favourites in all seasons. However, the only achievement to mention is the second place that they got three times. Although it can be attributed to fate and bad luck, what is the real reason for RCB not winning the cup?

RCB's bowlers are always blamed by fans and critics alike for not winning a trophy. Their home ground, the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, is an important factor that critics forget about while blaming the bowlers' inability to defend even if they find a big score. The pitch at Chinnaswamy can be described as a batter's paradise or a bowler's graveyard. One of the best batting tracks in the country and has a small boundary.

RCB bowlers who play here in home matches cannot be blamed 100 per cent for poor performance in economy. Even the world-class bowlers of other teams have struggled on this same Chinnaswamy Stadium and have earned the status of bad performers. The real problem RCB is facing is that they haven't had a top Indian batsman in a single season since Virat Kohli.

Here is the biggest proof of this… Virat Kohli is the highest run scorer for RCB in IPL history. He scored 7263 runs from 229 innings. If we want to see another Indian in the list of highest run scorers for the team, we have to reach the seventh position. This is the 898 runs scored by the current Indian coach Rahul Dravid, who retired from the game many years ago.

After Virat Kohli, ABD, Chris Gayle, Glenn Maxwell, Faf Duplessis and Jacques Kallis are followed by Dravid on the list. That means the absence of a consistent Indian batsman has always been the bane of Bangalore. RCB went winless in many matches, including in finals, only because there was no Indian player to take the responsibility after Kohli.

RCB's over-reliance on foreign batsmen is costing them their games. The only difference is that before it was Gayle and ABD, now it is Faf and Maxi. The lack of reliable Indian batsmen and all-rounders is also the main difference between RCB and the strongest five-time winners in IPL, Mumbai and Chennai. If this issue is not resolved, the men's team will not be able to say 'Ee Sala Cup Namde' anytime soon.
