More women and foreigners: Indians more in number; population of Kuwait that provides jobs for many Indians

KUWAIT CITY: According to the latest figures, the population of Kuwait has crossed 4.86 million. The total population of the country is 4,860,000 according to the Public Authority for Civil Information.

Compared to the 2023 estimates, the population has recorded an increase of 2.6 percent. Of these, 15,46,000 are Kuwaitis and 33,13,000 are foreigners. The population ratio in Kuwait is 31.82 percent natives and 68.18 percent expatriates.

However, it is clear from the figures that despite the increase in population, the number of Kuwaiti citizens has decreased. Last year, the native population was 32 percent. 94,000 expatriates arrived in Kuwait within a year.

The report pointed out that the expatriate population grew at an annual rate of 1.8 percent during the period from 2014 to 2023. Meanwhile, the number of women among Kuwaiti citizens in the country has increased more than men. There are 7,58,900 native males and 7,87,300 females in Kuwait.

The leading foreigners in Kuwait are from India and Egypt.
