THRISSUR: The employees of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) have again chopped down the plantain plants. They chopped the plantain plants of Manoj, a farmer of Puthukkad Pazhayi in Thrissur. The act was committed pointing that they were under the power line. The farmer said that some bananas were completely chopped down. Manoj is a farmer who grows bananas on four acres. The incident happened last afternoon.

Manoj came to know about the incident when he came to the plantation. It is reported that about eight plantain plants were completely chopped down and destroyed. The farmer said KSEB's action was without any warning. It is alleged that the leaves of the banana tree harvested were also cut and destroyed. The KSEB had done the same act last month also and it had sparked a controversy then. The plantain plants were cut at Edathiruthy Chuloor in Thrissur then. Six plantain plants that were nearing harvest were cut down in the name of touching the power line.
