VIETNAM: A live fish was discovered in the stomach of a young man who was hospitalized for severe abdominal pain in the northern province of Quang Ninh, Vietnam. Doctors at the Hai Ha District Medical Center successfully removed the fish alive during surgery.
Upon arrival, the doctors conducted X-rays and scans, revealing an obstruction in the abdomen, leading to a diagnosis of peritonitis. Emergency surgery was immediately performed, during which doctors were surprised to find a 30 cm-long eel inside the young man's stomach. It's suspected that the eel entered his body through the anus, eventually reaching and perforating the large intestine. The eel, along with a portion of the intestine, was safely removed and the surgery was deemed successful. The young man is currently recovering.
