Who is going to strike gold in Ponnani?

ls-polls

MALAPPURAM: The election campaign is gathering pace in Ponnani. Since 1977, none other than Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has won here and they are confident of retaining the constituency. This time, LDF is hopeful of a surprise win and BJP's aim is to increase its influence in the Malabar region by increasing its vote share.

IUML's MP ET Mohammed Basheer, who has won the constituency three times in a row, has been replaced by Abdussamad Samadani. The CPM is fielding independent KS Hamsa and the BJP has made the contest tighter by fielding Mahila Morcha state president Nivedida Subramanian.

There will be no third Modi government: MP Abdussamad Samadani

(UDF Candidate)

This is an election that will determine the direction of the country. People are worried about the disaster that will happen if the BJP comes to power once again. This is a vote for the future of India. My predecessors in Parliament fought great battles for secularism, minority rights and the idea of India. I will be with Ponnani people holding tight to their ideas. It is irrelevant that the former Muslim League leader is an opponent. There will be great success. There will be no third Modi government. India's hope lies in Rahul Gandhi.

Ponnani to mark an era: KS Hamsa

(LDF Candidate)

Ponnani is trying for a new era. The ranks have a lot of protest against the IUML leadership. I have the support of community organizations including Samastha. Last time the league's majority was a result of the Rahul Gandhi wave. It is surmountable. Congress stand on Gaza, Ram Temple and Single Civil Code issues will backfire on UDF. Kerala has a secular mind. They will vote for me. Ponnani needs an MP who listens to the people at all times. League MPs are abstaining at every opportunity. Looking at it like that, I have all the chance for success.

10 years of progress will help: Nivedida Subramanian

(NDA Candidate)

The NDA is facing the elections with the report of the progress made by the central government in the last 10 years. While visiting the people of Ponnani with this progress report, they understand that Rahul Gandhi and the "INDIA" bloc are irrelevant. Those who stand with development and want welfare to come to the country are with the Prime Minister. The benefit of Modi's guarantee should also go to Ponnani. There are certain agendas behind IUML MPs opting to interchange their seats.
