Kiasco revolutionizes election posters with cloth bonnet covers: Spreading across Malappuram and beyond

MALAPPURAM: Every election brings about new trends. In Malappuram, one such trend is the cloth bonnet cover featuring the candidate's picture, emblem and party flag printed on it. These covers can be easily attached to vehicles' bonnets using thread when required and they are removable thereafter.

Kiasco Company, located in Kottakkal, Malappuram designs these posters according to customers' specifications catering to the size of various vehicles' bonnets. The demand for these customized posters is high. Additionally, Kiasco produces T-shirts, hats and jerseys with candidates' images.

Chairman CT Faisal of Kiasco conceived the idea of using cloth for posters after observing that many people struggled to remove pasted posters, resulting in half-torn posters left on walls. These cloth posters are made using materials like salina and satin, sourced from Tirupur, to enhance brightness.

The popularity of these posters has extended beyond Malappuram to other districts like Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur. Once the design is finalized on the computer, it is printed onto both paper and fabric. A specially equipped machine then transfers the design from the paper to the fabric.
