NEW DELHI: The BJP has filed a complaint with the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remaining in power. In its complaint, the BJP alleged that Kejriwal was misusing power by running the government from ED custody. The Lieutenant Governor is looking into the legal side of the matter.
Meanwhile, the authorities have prepared a special cell for Kejriwal in the Tihar jail. They responded that the cell was prepared as a precautionary measure if Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody. Kejriwal is currently in ED custody in the Delhi liquor policy scam case.
The other day, Kejriwal issued an order regarding water supply in the national capital. Following this, Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal filed a complaint with the Lt. Governor questioning Kejriwal's action. In his complaint, Jindal pointed out that passing such an order while in custody is against the rules of procedure.
Meanwhile, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday said that Kejriwal directed to ensure the availability of free medicines and pathological tests at government-run Mohalla clinics. According to Bhardwaj, Kejriwal will always be with the people of Delhi and their health was always his first priority.
At the same time, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is reportedly planning to send notices to more AAP leaders in the liquor policy case.
