LONDON: 'If you're born poor, it's not your mistake, but if you die poor, it's your mistake.' These are the words once spoken by Bill Gates, one of the world's billionaires. Inspired by these words, Aniko Rose, a native of Manchester in the UK, has come up with a new way to make money. Aniko earns money by hugging people. The 42-year-old has been doing this job for the last three years.
Aniko, who describes herself as a 'professional hugger', says that most of her customers are those who feel alone in life and have no one to comfort them. She says that her hugs can give them freedom from stress and loneliness. Although she first started the job for fun, soon her idea clicked. Now, a long queue of people is waiting outside Aniko's home every day hoping to get a hug from her.
Some people like to sleep on her lap instead of hugging them. Aniko won't disappoint them either. A majority of Aniko's customers are aged between twenty and sixty-five. She says that people of any age can seek her services. Aniko charges a whopping 70 pounds (Rs 7400) per hour for her service. Although the therapy session is usually for an hour, the customers can extend the session by paying more.
