Four people arrested for hacking youth to death in Thiruvananthapuram

murder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have nabbed four people in the case where a youth was hacked to death following a dispute over a vehicle's finance deal. The arrested people are Venpakal native JS Jibin (25), Nellimoodu native Manoj (19), Chovvara native Abhijith (18) and Kanjiramkulam native Ranjith (23). Jibin, the first accused, was released from jail a week ago after being convicted in a POCSO case.

Neyyattinkara Ooruttukala native Adithyan (23) was hacked to death yesterday night. Adithyan was travelling on a bike when the gang followed him in a car and attacked him. The assailants fled the spot when the locals gathered after hearing the youth's screams. As no ambulance was available, two people took Adithyan to the hospital by placing him in the middle of a scooter. However, he soon succumbed to his injuries.

Adithyan was a collection agent at a private microfinance firm. He was involved in a dispute when he went to collect money near Nellimoodu the other day. The preliminary conclusion of the police is that this dispute resulted in the murder. It was the Neyyatinkara police that registered a case and conducted an investigation. Adithyan lived in Pathamkallu in Neyyattinkara.
