PALAKKAD: Adding to the worry of the unsolved issue of man–wild conflict in Kerala, two cases of wild animal attacks were reported on Friday. A woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild boar at Kuzhalmannam in Palakkad. Vellapokkathil Krishnan’s wife Thatha(61) was injured in the attack.
The wild boar speared the senile woman while she was standing in the backyard of her house. Later the boar ferociously bit her legs while the woman was lying injured on the ground. She was immediately rushed to Palakkad District Hospital and later to Thrissur Medical College Hospital.
In another case, a bison attacked a man in Spring Valley Idukki. MR Rajeev, a native of Mlamala was stabbed in the stomach by the beast. The incident happened on Friday morning.
