TTE was pushed from train with intention of killing him; Sections including IPC 302 charged against Rajinikanth

THRISSUR: The First Information Report (FIR) filed in the murder of Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) Vinod is out. The FIR mentioned that the accused Rajinikanth pushed the TTE from the running train with the intention of killing him. Sections including IPC 302 have been charged against the accused.

TTE Vinod was checking tickets and the accused, a differently abled migrant worker, identified as Rajanikanth didn’t have a ticket and a dispute broke out between the two in the name of it. The incident happened at Velappaya between Mulangunnathukavu and Wadakkanchery railway stations. The TTE was standing near the door of S 11 coach. The FIR said the accused pushed Vinod from the running train.

Eyewitness Ismail told a media that Rajinikanth was drunk and entered into a dispute with Vinod. When Vinod asked for the ticket, the accused hurled abuses at him. When the accused kept on hurling abuses, the TTE contacted the Palakkad railway station. When he realized that the TTE was talking about him on the phone, he pushed Vinod from the train. Ismail said that the accused threatened to attack him if he disclosed the information.

The incident happened on the Ernakulam-Patna Express around 8 pm last night. Vinod was murdered near Velappaya overbridge between Thrissur and Vadakancherry.

The postmortem of Vinod will be conducted in the morning. The body is kept in the mortuary of Thrissur Medical College. The body will be brought to his house at Manjummal in Ernakulam in the afternoon. Vinod and his family shifted to their new house on January 28, 2024.

The arrest of the accused will be registered soon. The investigating team will then take him to collect evidence. The accused boarded the train from Thrissur.
