THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has issued a high temperature warning in the state today. A yellow alert has been announced in the state today. Kollam and Palakkad will experience high temperatures of 39 degrees Celsius from April 3rd to 7th.
According to the central meteorological department, the maximum temperature is likely to rise to 38°C in Kozhikode and 36°C (2-4°C above normal) in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kasaragod.
Due to high temperature and humid air, hot and humid weather is likely from April 3 to April 7 in these districts, except in the hilly areas.

Drink plenty of fresh water even if you are not thirsty. Use an umbrella or a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Wear light colored clothing. Do not leave children in a vehicle parked in the sun. Ensure indoor air circulation. Alcohol and caffeinated beverages should be avoided.
