AHMEDABAD: Punjab Kings fought back and grabbed a stunning victory from a situation everyone thought it was impossible to make a comeback. In Thursday’s IPL match against Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings reached the target of 200 runs with just one ball remaining.

Shashank Singh, who scored 69 not out in 29 balls, Jitesh Sharma, who scored 16 runs in 8 balls, and Ashutosh Sharma, who came out as an impact player (31 runs in 17 balls), helped the team to victory. At one time, the time lead by captain Shikhar Dhawan was stumbling at 111/5 in the 13th over.

Shashank was infamous after the team owners purchased him by mistake during the player auction. However, all dues were paid on Thursday as Shashank blasted four sixes and six boundaries in his fighter innings.

Shubman Gill, who played the hero's game for the Titans scored 89 runs in 48 balls. Kane Williamson (26), Sai Sudarshan (33) and Rahul Tewathia (23*) gave good support to Gill.

Wriddhiman Saha (11), who came with Gill for the opening, was sent back to the dressing room by Rabada. Then Kane Williamson added 40 runs and returned in the eighth over with the team score standing at 69. It was Williamson's first game of the season.

Punjab got their second win in the fourth match of the season and moved up to the sixth position with four points. Gujarat, who suffered their second defeat in four games, are seventh with four points.
