KOCHI: Actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi has received a setback in the Puducherry vehicle registration case as the Ernakulam ACJM court on Friday refused to cancel cases registered against him for evading taxes by registering his luxury vehicles in Puducherry.
The case pertains to Suresh Gopi registering his vehicles using a fake address in Puducherry. It is alleged that the actor had evaded taxes up to Rs 30 lakhs by registering two cars in Puducherry. Suresh Gopi told the Crime Branch that he had registered the cars at the address of his farm in Puducherry. However, it was found that there was no land in this address.
