THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have activated the investigation focusing on the role of a fourth person in the incident where a Malayali couple and their friend bled to death in a hotel room in Arunachal Pradesh. The investigative team concluded that the deceased Naveen, his wife Devi and friend Arya believed in astral projection and someone else was responsible for it.

The police believe that a fourth person was performing the witchcraft rituals for black magic as the three persons prepared for death with the aim of separating their souls from their bodies. Therefore, the police confirm the influence of outsiders in the death of the couple and their friend.

Potential for online witchcraft

The police investigation has not been able to find out that a third person came to the hotel. It is believed that someone has been coordinating the black magic rituals online. Police investigations have revealed that there are many witchcraft centres in Ziro Valley. However, to unravel the mystery of the incident, the e-mail chats of the deceased must be found. The police reckons that the picture will become clear once the cyber experts examine the phones and laptops.

A six-member investigation team under the leadership of Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment ACP is preparing to record the statements of the relatives and colleagues of the three deceased.

Stealthy travel, stealthy moves

It is clear that Naveen and Devi, who left their home in Kottayam on March 17, had prepared a travel plan. They used to turn off their phones and avoid online transactions so that no one could track their journey.

The couple travelled for ten days to different places and stayed at Kazhakkoottam for four days. It is not known where they lived here. They booked the flight ticket on the 26th when they met Arya.

Even when they bought tickets for three people from a travel agency in Kazhakkoottam, the amount was paid in cash. Even when the hotel room was booked, Naveen did not provide the documents of others.

Arya's mail, the only hope

An e-mail message that Arya shared with her friends three years ago is the only hope of the investigation team at present. The e-mail message is about extraterrestrial life. There were also some codes. The message is from a fake mail ID named Don Bosco. Arya had forwarded this message to her friends. After hearing the news of the death, the friends forwarded the message to the police.
