ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan heavily came down on BJP and predicted a dismal show from the saffron party in the upcoming LS elections in Kerala. The Chief Minister was speaking to the media in Alappuzha on the occasion of LDF's election campaign. CM also lashed out at BJP saying that the party would not even finish second in any of the constituencies in Kerala.
Pinarayi Vijayan:
Religious fanaticism won’t be allowed to set foot in Kerala. We have been steadfastly fighting the Sangh Parivar ideology in Kerala. The manifesto of CPM has clearly stated that it will repeal UAPA and PMLA. This cannot be seen in the Congress manifesto. They are now following a criminal silence on the issue of CAA.
In 2016, BJP opened its account in Kerala for the very first time. That was not because of any saffron trend and I am sure that even BJP cadres would second that. However, in 2021, we closed that account and made sure that BJP was cleansed out from Kerala. In 2011, UDF got 17.38 per cent votes in Nemom. In 2016, it decreased to 9.7 per cent. Where did the Congress votes go?
UDF facilitated BJPs victory in Nemom. CPM is not a party that would trade its ideology for some mere votes.
