AYOOR: A notorious mobile phone thief, who recently stole a mobile phone, a watch and Rs 5000 from a person's house, was nabbed by the police. As the phone was not switched off, the police found out the location of the tower and arrested Gopi, the man accused of theft. The said watch, phone and money was taken from Sobhana Mandiram in Ilamad's Kulanji. The accused was arrested following a complaint received by the Chadayamangalam police. He was produced in court and remanded.
Police said that the arrested man is accused in many theft cases and there are cases in Chadayamangalam, Kadakkal, Puyapalli, Chathannoor, Paripally and Pallikal stations. The incident happened on April 4. Gopi found the door of the house open and entered and stole a mobile phone worth Rs 12,500, a watch worth Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 kept inside the table. Then the accused went to Paravoor from there.
With the help of cyber police, the police reached Paravoor and caught Gopi after finding out the location of the phone tower. The stolen mobile phone was recovered from him. But the accused said that the watch was sold to someone in Ayoor.
