Goons unleash violence in Aluva, four sustain injuries, four in custody 

attack

KOCHI: Four people sustained injuries in a goonda attack that broke out last night at Sreemoolanagaram in Aluva. Reports said the attack was carried out by bike and car borne people. Many including Sulaiman, former member of Sreemoolanagaram panchayat was injured in the attack. Sulaiman, who was beaten with a hammer has been admitted to Rajagiri Hospital and others at Karothukuzhi Hospital. Reports said the condition of Sulaiman, who is also a local Congress leader, is very serious.


Four people have been detained in connection with the incident. Siraj, Saneer and Faisal, who were directly involved in the crime and Kabir involved in the conspiracy, are in police custody. Siraj was detained from Kakkanad, Saneer from Aroor and Faisal Babu from Thrissur. Police said they are members of a gang outside the district. They are being interrogated. Their arrest will be recorded after the interrogation is over.


Police said a dispute related to the theft of cars ended in the attack. The dispute between the two sides has been going on for some time over this issue.


The CCTV visuals of the attack have surfaced. The footage shows a person coming after stopping the bike, coming towards the moving car and the assailants coming with weapons including swords. Along with interrogating those detained, the police are trying to find those behind the violence and the quotation group.
