THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to witness scorching weather in the coming days. The central meteorological department has issued a warning that heatwave conditions will continue in the state. The central meteorological department informed that till April 13, Palakkad will record a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius, Kollam of 40 degrees Celsius, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur will record a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kasaragod, a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, Thiruvananthapuram and Malappuram will a maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius.
Due to high temperature and humid air, hot weather is likely till April 13 in these districts, except in hilly areas. A yellow alert has been issued in districts except Idukki and Wayanad till Saturday.

Meantime, the Meteorological Centre informed that there is a possibility of summer rain with thunder in the state on Friday and Saturday. Summer rains are less in the state this time. Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts have not received summer rain this year. The state received 16.8 mm of rain so far from March 1 to April 6. The state was to get 49.7 mm of rain.
