31-year-old woman dies after undergoing sterilization procedure, alleges medical negligence 

THRISSUR: A woman subjected to laparoscopic sterilization died while undergoing treatment. She has been identified as Neethu (31), wife of Sijo of Chalakudy. She died early Wednesday morning. She was admitted to a private hospital in Pota on Monday for surgery. Neetu had epilepsy after the surgery and died after shifted to a hospital in Thrissur.

Her relatives have lodged a complaint with the Chalakudy police, alleging the cause of death as a defect in the anaesthesia given to Neetu before the surgery at the Pota hospital. The police have registered a case of unnatural death. The police informed that they will examine whether there was any medical negligence.
