Security forces gun down one terrorist in Pulwama; search ongoing

SRINAGAR: After a long tranquil run, Kashmir on Thursday saw the return of militant attacks, bringing back fear in the region. The clash took place on early Thursday morning in Pulwama’s Frasipora region. One terrorist has been neutralized in the attack.

The security agencies have earlier received a tip-off regarding terrorists stationed at the Murran region of Pulwama. The encounter took place in the subsequent search conducted. In the shootout that ensued, J and K police also joined the security forces in the operation. According to military sources, it was just a few days before that one terrorist was shot dead in the Uri region, and the immediate backlash looks ominous.

Meanwhile, the security forces along with the police have surrounded the area, and a search is ongoing. The army is keeping all doors closed and is sure to eliminate all the militants in the coming hours.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the situation on the India-China border needs to be taken care of urgently to resolve the abnormality in bilateral interactions. He added that the two countries share a vital relationship and reminded the need for a stable India-China relationship that is important to the world.
