KOCHI: The Kerala High Court intervened for exempting P V Anwar MLA from the case related to the rave party held at the resort owned by him. The court directed the home secretary to look into the complaint questioning the ommission of Anwar. The court directed to submit a report within one month after investigating the complaint. The complaint was filed by an RTI activist from Malappuram.
The court intervened in the case of seizing liquor stored for a rave party at a resort in Malakkapadi, Aluva. The excise registered the case after excluding Anwar. The action of the court is based on the plea filed against this.
The incident happened in 2018 based on the complaint. The excise had received information that liquor was being stored and distributed without a license at the resort.
Following an inspection, alcohol was seized. Five people were taken into custody in the incident. The excise filed the chargesheet excluding Anwar. The home secretary was not ready to look into the complaint questioning this. The RTI activist filed a plea in the high court against this. The complaint said Anwar was excluded from the case due to his political influence.
