16 booked in Nadapuram jeep fire incident

KOZHIKODE: A case has been registered against 16 people in the incident where the jeep caught fire while bursting firecrackers. The incident happened in Kozhikode Mudavantheri after midnight on Tuesday. One of the lit firecrackers fell under the jeep and soon enough the vehicle was ablaze.

The case has been registered for careless use of explosives. In the FIR, it was mentioned that people’s lives were in danger due to the heedless behaviour of bursting crackers in a crammed-up space. The firecrackers stored in the jeep caught fire and the jeep was completely burnt. Four people were injured while trying to douse the fire.

The injured are being treated at a private hospital in Nadapuram. After the incident, the jeep was towed from the road and moved to another place.
