Gas tanker lorry overturns in Kottarakkara; driver injured; on high alert 

KOLLAM: A gas tanker lorry overturned in Kottarakkara. The driver, a native of Tamil Nadu, was injured in the accident. The incident happened on the MC Road in Panaveli Friday morning at 5.

There were reports of a fuel leak following the accident. All efforts are being taken to lift the lorry. The lorry losing control hit the electricity post on the roadside and then overturned. The injured driver was admitted to the taluk hospital in Kottarakkara.

Fire force units from Kottarakkara are in the spot. Traffic has been restricted on the M C Road. Power has been disconnected. Vehicles are being diverted from Vettikavala. The preliminary conclusion is that the driver may have dozed off and this may have led to the incident.
