ALAPPUZHA: Reports said two people jumped into a lake from Pallathuruthy bridge. A lorry driver, who was there, said that he saw a man and a woman jumping from the bridge. Based on his statement, scuba team and divers reached the spot and started rescue operations.
Meantime, the third person swept away in the strong currents of a river at Mannarcaud in Palakkad yesterday, has died. He has been identified as Badusha aged 20 of Kottappuram Puttanikkad Puthiya Veettil. Riswana (19) of Parakkal and Deema Mebba of Cherumala, who met with the accident, had died yesterday itself.
The incident happened last evening near the Kottilakadavu Cherupuzha bridge. The three had come to the plantation bought recently near the Cherupuzha bridge. They later went for a bath in the river. The three swept away in the strong currents were brought to the shore by the locals. By the time, they were taken to the hospital, the two had died.
