9946 rank holders go home empty handed following expiry of CPO rank list

protest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPO candidates who had staged a protest in front of the Secretariat in the heavy downpour on Friday afternoon in the scorching sun returned disappointed. As it was the day of expiry of the rank list, their hope was on the vacancies to be reported to the PSC by midnight.

9946 job seekers who were part of the strike for more than 62 days with the dream of getting a job returned home empty handed by night. There was sadness and anger of being stuck after believing the words given by the leaders.

Their decision is to inform the people of the government's neglect. A press conference will be called to speak about the stories told by the leaders. They told Kerala Kaumudi that the leader promised jobs in the last days of the expiry of the rank list if the strike was continued peacefully. They were not even called for a discussion.

The Home Department recommended creation of more posts to reduce the workload and pressure of the police, but it was not implemented due to financial crisis. After the murder of Dr. Vandana Das, the promise of setting up police aid posts in government hospitals and the proposal of the Home Department to appoint more than 700 posts in the highway police was not implemented.

So far 4,029 people from the rank list have received advice memos. Out of which 703 vacancies are NJD. Home Department reported only 3,326 new vacancies to PSC. 5,610 candidates received appointment advice memos from previous rank list.

Hostile attitude towards youth: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Union Minister and NDA candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the cancellation of CPO rank list is unfortunate. He said that it is unfortunate that the letter sent to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with the complaint of the candidates was not even answered.

KPCC Acting President MM Hassan visited the candidates.
